Dunedin is the heritage and wildlife capital of New Zealand. As New Zealand’s oldest city, Dunedin is full of character and charm. The city is just minutes from the natural wonderland of Otago Peninsula, which is home to colonies of fur seals, albatrosses and rare Yellow-eyed Penguins. As a scenic drive the Otago Peninsula is spectacular. We follow the coastal road past small settlements and beaches to Taiaroa Head and the albatross colony.  This is your chance to see the world's only mainland Royal Albatross breeding colony. Albatross are the world’s largest seabirds. They normally breed on remote islands and spend at least 85 percent of their lives at sea, well away from land and human view.
From the Albatross Colony we are off to the city of Dunedin- perhaps New Zealand's best kept secret. Modelled on Edinburgh in Scotland, it is one of the best preserved Victorian and Edwardian cities in the Southern Hemisphere.
